Robert W. Boykin

ROBERT W. BOYKIN, 76, of Zelienople, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 9:43 AM at UPMC Passavant McCandless in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania due to multiple organ failure. He was born on March 12, 1941 in Rochester, New York, the son of the late Banks and Agnes (Knoepfler) Boykin. On June 17, 1972, Robert married the former Kathleen Geib, who survives. They have been married for over 45 years.

He is survived by one brother Richard Boykin of Fairport, New York; one niece, Ginette Fertel; one nephew, David Boykin, their spouses and children.

Bob received his BA and MA in Latin, French and Greek from St. Michael's College of the University of Toronto. He also obtained a PhD in French and Comparative Literature from the University of Rochester. After teaching French for a brief time, he spent over 40 years in financial services with AXA Equitable. Bob was a Certified Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Planner and member of the Equitable Hall of Fame. He loved to garden, travel, attend operas and listen to classical music.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church 2 W Beaver St, Zelienople, Pennsylvania 16063. The family will receive friends Friday January 19, 2018 from 4 PM- 7 PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave, Zelienople, Pennsylvania. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney Saturday June 2, 2018 at 11am with Rev.
