BRUCE PATRICK (BJ) TOAL, 23, of Sidney, OH passed away at 3:30 pm on April 10, 2017 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born in Sidney, OH on September 21, 1993, to Bruce and Catherine (Causseaux) Toal. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel.  He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Catherine Toal of Sidney, his brothers Jonathan of Troy, OH, Antonio of Mexico City, MX, Zachary of Columbia, MO and sister, Lilly of Eagle River, AK.  He also leaves maternal grandmother Charlene Causseaux of Balsam Grove, NC, paternal grandmother, Leona Toal, of Charlotte, NC and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

BJ was a 2013 graduate from Troy Christian High School.  BJ had an outstanding high school wrestling career at Troy Christian.  He was a two-time state champion and in 2013 led his team to a team state title as well.  His senior year he was voted to USA Wrestling All American team which yearly designates the best wrestlers in the country.  He received a scholarship to wrestle at the University of Missouri where he joined his older brother Zach who was already on the team.  BJ would have graduated this May.

BJ accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age.  At the age of 12 he was baptized in water at Living Word Church in Vandalia symbolizing his trust and reliance upon Jesus.  BJ truly displayed the fruit of the Holy Spirit in his life and always deposited more into relationships than he took.  He was a loving and compassionate man.  He had a clear understanding of his identity and who he was in Jesus Christ and because of this was as genuine as they come.

BJ changed the atmosphere when he entered the room with his kind heart, wonderful smile and laugh.  He was truly a gift to our family and friends.  Sitting with BJ and sharing and talking for hours seemed like minutes and you didn't want it to end.  He just made you feel you were a better person whenever you spent time with him.  He was that guy! Strength and Honor BJ.

A Celebration of BJ's Life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Rd, Sidney. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 8 PM at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, Sidney.  The family will dress casually as this is the way BJ would have wanted it.

Memorials may be made to Living Waters Ministries, 7935 Parkway Rd, Balsam Grove, NC. 28708. Condolences may be expressed to the Toal family at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com

Dear Toal Family,

Our sincere sadness to you all at this very difficult time! The loss of your loving Bruce has to be terribly difficult to comprehend. He was such an outstanding young man of which you all must have been extremely proud. Proud also of yourselves for the love, guidance and influence you all had on Bruce.

I am a friend of Junes from Medford, NJ. If June is any example of the wonderful family you all are , for this you should be extremely proud. I always admired June's strong belief in her faith and the Lord to guide her through the difficult times. Her belief in the power of prayer made me an even stronger believer through the difficult times.

Even though Bruce was much too young to leave you all and his life, we can only pray and believe that he is in a better place free of any pain and suffering. He is free of any lasting injuries that could have made his life as we know it, very difficult.
For this we can only thank God for making the best decision.

My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family in hopes as time goes on your grief and sadness will somehow start to lessen. I hope the wonderful memories you are left with will carry you through until you see Bruce again.

Blessings to you all,

Leila Halligan

Dearest Bruce, Catherine, Jonathon, Zach and Lilly. I am so sorry about BJ. I am faced with death everyday doing the job I do, but this was hard to comprehend. I relied on my spiritual teachings that say that BJ was given a certain number of breaths when he was born. And even though we who knew and loved him feel that number was too low, he completed his work here on earth. It is God's perfect will. I can't imagine the pain in your heart right now. You are a strong family. You may not see it now but this dark period is just a chapter in your journey. You will come out of this even stronger and filled with more love for the Lord than you thought imaginable. Rely on the love and ministry you have already been given to walk you thru this. I wanted to come and give you my love and support today, but I have a previous commitment I can't get out of. I send you spiritual hugs from a distance. PLEASE continue to Luv the journey! God Bless all of you! All my love, Barb
