Josephine E. (Fosnight) Fogt

JOSEPHINE E. FOGT, age 91 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 9:13 AM at her home. She was born on April 23, 1932, in Port Jefferson, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor (Beavers) Fosnight. On February 5, 1949, she married Walter Junior Fogt who preceded her in death May 15, 2016.

She is survived by five children: Sue Fogt, Steve (Teresa) Fogt, and David (Pat) Fogt all of Sidney, Larry Fogt of Anna, and Julia Fogt of Sidney, sister, Myrtle Nichols, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lou Anne Wisecup, and Ruth Koch, brother, Don Fosnight, and daughters-in-law, Jamey Fogt, and Carrie Fogt.

Mrs. Fogt was a homemaker and a member of Sidney First Methodist Church, and Sidney American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and bird watching, but most of all, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
