Dahlia and Family.....

My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of Bob.   I knew him through the old car hobby and always looked forward to talking with him at Hershey each year.  He was one in a million and was a real car guy.  God's Speed Mr. Stevens

Dahlia....I am one of the three guys Bob ran around with at Farmington High and now reside in Clarkston, Michigan with my wife Paula. The other friend was John Johnsen who resides today near Traverse City with his wife. While I have always reflected about Bob, I felt the need to google today, only to learn that he passed away in Jan of 2014. What a shame to lose a quality guy like him, so early.

I remember his folks as well as his sister Carol. I would love to meet all of you if and when you are in the area and share stories. Bob's obituary says that Carol and one of his daughters reside in Michigan. In fact Carol in Commerce Lake is very close to our home, and one of his daughters evidently lives in Troy where I still work at the Huntington Bank Building in Troy.

Please pass on my email address as well as my cell phone at 248 496 2541. I would love to hear from any of you. i know John Johnsen would love to do the same. Also prepared to meet any of you, particularly the two here in Michigan. Please let me know if that is possible. Russell Taylor Jones, Farmington High Class of 1963

Having met Bob many years ago as a fellow car collector, I was always impressed with his tremendous interest & enthusiasm for the antique/classic car hobby. More importantly however, he was always a true gentleman, & a down to earth "nice guy". As "Cars & Parts Magazine" Editor, he had photoraphed a number of our automobiles at our home for the magazine. He always dropped by to say hello at the various car shows. We even traveled together to one of the Packard Shows, & had a great time. He will be missed by us, & I'm sure many others in the hobby. We'll miss you Bob!!

We are so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  Bob and I coached ball together for so many years; both Sidney Electric and Iutis.  He was always such a joy to be around.  A couple of summers ago he showed me his car collection and reminisced. May all your memories help ease your pain.

Dahlia and Family, Bob will be missed in the antique car hobby. I always enjoyed seeing him at the car shows, especially at the Springfield Car and Parts Swap Meet where Bob was the Shows' only judge. I enjoy working with Bob at that show for over 25 years. The show will not be the same with out him.

My extreme sympathy to Dahlia and Bob's family. Bob was the mold for what all is good in a person, besides being a great automotive historian and car collector. I will cherish the memories of the many good times spent with Bob.  He was a great friend.

To the family, Mark and I are so saddened by the news of Bob's passing. I met Bob when I worked at Amos Press. He was such an interesting man and had lots of good stories to tell. I admired him for doing what he loved doing. We will miss seeing him this summer at the DQ and many other car shows. We hope your family finds peace knowing how much he was loved.

Dahlia,
Words are not enough to express how sorry we are for your loss. It was truly an honor to have known Bob. The neighborhood won't be the same without seeing him with the dogs and getting that nod & smile that I swear seemed to radiate from his eyes if the kids stopped him to ask about one of his cars. He will be long remembered for his kindness and bringing laughter to our lives with his many stories. His was a life well lived and he is going to be missed. Please accept our sincere condolences and know that our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bob. He was a kind, caring man who always had a story to tell and a smile on his face. If success is measured by the friends you leave behind, you have to know that Bob was at the top of the ladder. I always enjoyed listening to his fascinating life stories and want you to know that he loved you, the girls, and the rest of his family dearly. He was so proud of you all. May God Bless you and your family and give you strength at this difficult time. He will truly be missed.
