Obituary
WILLIAM "BILL" TOLBERT HAMMER, 85, of Sidney passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 9:25 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on June 29, 1938 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Wilma (Scholl) Hammer. On September 7, 1957, Bill married the former Barbara Green, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Blair) Granger and Jill (Todd) Tomlin; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Frederick, son Randall Hammer and four siblings, John Hammer, Kip Hammer, Joe Hammer and Kathleen Ferguson.
Mr. Hammer retired from Cargill Corporation working as a Laborer. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959. He enjoyed fishing, football and watching westerns on TV. Bill always loved traveling to Tennessee, where he lived for a time.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday September 22, 2023 at 12 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Randy Reed officiating. Friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Health Hospice in Bill's memory.
