WILLIAM GILSON PHILLIPS, 89 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 3:45 AM at Hospice of Miami County. He was born on August 4, 1936, in Wolf Creek, Kentucky, the son of the late Otto and Clara Mae (Correll) Phillips.
He is survived by five children: Sharon Renner, Dale (Connie) Phillips, Beverly (Gary) Cundiff, Pamela Phillips, and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Noe all of Sidney, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings: Woodrow Coffey, Theodore Coffey, Jim Gilreath, Forrest Phillips, Gertie Gilreath, and Gloria Jones.
William was a farmer prior to working at Stolle Corporation as a polisher. He also served as a volunteer for the Lockington Fire Department. After retiring, he was a driver for NAPA. He was of the Baptist faith, an outdoorsman who enjoyed raising chickens, hunting, fishing, and especially gardening.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
