Walter Mayse, Jr., 88, of Sidney, passed away at 10:36 A.M. Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Rita's hospital in Lima. He was born on April 17, 1936 in Ransom, Kentucky, son to the late Walter Mayse, Sr. and Anne Isom-Mayse.
On July 2, 1955 he married the former Z. Ann Barker, who survives, along with their children, Robert (Fran) Mayse, Randall Mayse, Daniel (Angela) Mayse, Brenda (Aaron) Barhorst; daughter-in-law, Connie Mayse, nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Kathy) Mayse; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, James Mayse; three brothers, William, Lacy and Willie Mayse; and four sisters, Mary Elizabeth Scott, Ada Wion, Pauline Bey, and Christine McLaughlin.
Walter was retired from Copeland Corporation where he served in various capacities throughout his career. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Sidney. Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars, and building things. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.
