Virginia Diane Riggs

VIRGINIA DIANE RIGGS, 77, of Sidney, passed away at 2:47 P.M. Tuesday, February 24, 2026 Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. She was born on January 8, 1949 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harrison L. and Alice L. (Cole) Goings. She was married to Addison St. Myers, who preceded her in death on September 7, 2000.

Virginia is survived by six children, Robert Hammer of Sidney, John (Betsy Maynard) St. Myers of Troy, Ronald (Kristy) St. Myers of Sidney, Julie (Matt) Grillot of Houston, Melissa (Ronald) Brown of Sidney, and Alice Riggs of Piqua; twenty-five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Ladonna Goings of Sidney, Becky Freeman of Piqua, John Goings of Port Jefferson, Pete (Rita) Goings of Houston, and Jimmy Goings of Sidney. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Hammer; two granddaughters, Jackie and Grace St. Myers; and one brother, Tom Goings.

Virginia devoted her life to her home and family, creating a warm and welcoming place for all who entered. She found joy in sewing and took great pride in her flower gardens, nurturing them with the same care and attention she gave to those around her. Virginia cherished a good conversation, always ready to listen or share a story. Above all, she deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
