Theresa Marie (Bonnoront) Douglas

THERESA MARIE DOUGLAS, age 74, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 6:54 PM at Wilson Health. She was born on July 26, 1950, in Botkins, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edison and Berniece (Steinke) Bonnoront.

In 1970, Theresa married Raymond Douglas, who preceded her in death November 18, 1984. She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Thelma) Douglas and Eric Douglas, both of Sidney; two brothers, Gary Bonnoront of Indian Lake and John (Betty) Bonnoront of Sidney; two sisters, Bonnie (Gus) Larger of Indian Lake and Candy (Jason) Alig of Botkins; a sister-in-law, Karen Bonnoront of Virginia; her beloved granddaughter, Brianna Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Bonnoront.

A 1968 graduate of Anna High School, Theresa went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She began her career at Wilson Memorial Hospital before changing career paths working at the Ohio Department of Transportation, where she served many years as a dedicated Public Relations Officer.

Theresa had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and gardening, and in her younger years, she enjoyed traveling. She had a special bond with her cherished dogs—Augie, Lizzy, Gidget, Bella, and Layla—but above all, her heart belonged to her family, whom she loved dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Alex Biryomumeisho as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, and again on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
