Thad Ball Obituary

THAD MURRAY BALL, age 79 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 7:46 PM at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, OH. He was born on September 18, 1941 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Kenneth and Laura (Johnson) Ball. On October 24, 1964 he married Mary (Scott) who preceded him in death on September 17, 2020.

He is survived by two sons, Scott (Tracy) Ball of Lancaster, OH, and Eric (Larisa McHugh) Ball of Yellow Springs, OH, three grandchildren, Payne (Abbey) Ball, Kelsey Ball, and Noah Ball, and two sisters, Lee Alice (Ernest) Heintz of Anna, OH, and Rebecca (James) Shepard of Lancaster, OH. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Richard Ball. 

Mr. Ball was a 1959 graduate of Ft. Knox High School. After graduation he went on to serve his country in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963. After his service he worked as a letter carrier in Sidney and retired as Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Port Jefferson. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217, Masonic Lodge: Grand Lodge F&AM of Ohio, Stokes Lodge No. 305 Port Jefferson, OH, and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sidney.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 120 W. Water St. Sidney, OH 45365 with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be private at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
