Tamica L. Petty

TAMICA L. PETTY, 46, of Sidney passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1979 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of Willie Petty of Lima, and Vanessa (Williams) Petty of Sidney.

Also surviving are her six children, JaVon (Jordyn) Purk of Detroit, MI, Jade Dawson, Jakel Dawson, Jakya Dawson, Janyla Petty, and Kelani Petty, all of Sidney; siblings, Ryan (Brandi) Williams, Torrey (Lindsey) Williams, Trina (Howard) Collier, LaVette (Keith) Smith, Toni Petty, Ijena Petty, and Willie Petty Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Annie Williams, and Carl and Ella Ree Petty; one aunt, Vernice Houston; and one uncle, Fred Williams.

Tamica enjoyed traveling and took every chance she could to explore new places, whether near or far. She had a genuine love for animals, especially elephants and dolphins, and even had a dolphin tattoo that reflected that connection. Tamica was amazing with numbers and worked in preparing taxes. She liked to relax by watching her favorite TV shows, often with her family by her side. Her children were the heart of her life. She supported them wholeheartedly, cheering them on in sports and all their activities. Tamica’s love for her family was constant and strong. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Grace Family Worship Center, 9101 N. Co. Rd. 25A in Piqua, Ohio, with Pastor H. Eugene Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
