STEPHEN DEE WORL, 88 of Sidney, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at 3:45 PM at his residence. He was born on January 16, 1938, in Cambridge City, Indiana, the son of the late Fred and Mary Olive (Powell) Worl. He first married Marlene (Merritt) in August of 1962, and she preceded him in death in May of 1996.
On November 27, 1999, Stephen married Donna (Hetzler) Houck who survives along with two children: Stephen Scott Worl of Plymouth, IL, and Jill (Mark) Schulze of Anna, two stepsons: Jay (Jill) Houck of Marion, MA, and Mark Houck of Shelbyville, IN, sister, Betty (Lewis) Fowlkes of Seffner, FL, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Stephen graduated from Celina High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, IN. He was a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, and President of Midwest Chapter of the Ohio Society of Civil Engineers. He was a past-President of the State Public Land Surveyors of Ohio. He was a Certified Professional Engineer and Surveyor in the states of Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. He was founder, President, and CEO of Worl & Associates, engineering and surveying consultants.
Stephen was an outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. For ten years he travelled to Wyoming with family and friends to go antelope, deer, or elk hunting. His greatest joy was the first annual trip when he took his son and granddaughter with him to go antelope hunting.
Stephen loved to travel having visited all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, several European countries, and South Africa.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
