Sonya VanHook Obituary

SONYA R. VANHOOK, age 51 of Houston, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:10 AM at her home. She was born on May 28, 1969 in St. Marys, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Letitia (Booher) Yates.

Sonya married Stephen H. VanHook who survives along with her children, Jill Williamson, Brandon Steele, Corey Steele, and Trevor Williamson, five grandchildren, and four brothers, David Yates, Carlos Yates, Chris Yates, and Shawn Ransbottom.

Sonya was a Sidney High School graduate. She took pride in attaining her nurse's aide certificate, and loved working in her profession for many years.

She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and loved her family, especially her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In keeping with Sonya's wishes, her body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
