Shirley Ann (Swob) Jones

SHIRLEY ANN (SWOB) JONES, 83, of Sidney passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 6:15 PM at her residence. She was born on February 12, 1935 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Freeman and Ruth (Evans) Swob. On June 27, 1955 Shirley married Arnold Jones, who preceded her in death April 23, 2017.

She is survived by their eight children,  Greg (Lisa) Jones of Houston, Randy (Julia) Jones of Oklahoma City, OK, Rick (Bea) Jones, Sandy (Carl) Wooddell,  Melissa (Mark) Copeland, Tammy (Steve) McVety, MaryAnn (Steve) Goins, and Kristi (Craig) Wappelhorst all of Sidney; eighteen grandchildren, Stephanie, Sasha, Brad, Kraig, LeAnnea, Ryan, Shelly, Matt, Heather, Allen, Mindy, Brandi, Austin, Holly, Zachary, Anna, Lindsey and Jacob, twenty six great-grandchildren and two siblings, Linda Baker and Ronnie Swob both of Sidney. Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Elwood Swob; two sisters, Mary Jones and Myrle Yinger; two grandsons, Brian and Andrew and two great-grandsons, Cole and Riley.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker all her life. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley taught her children the importance of love and family. She loved to cook, can, and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds play. Shirley was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Monday May 7, 2018 at noon at Cromes - Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may visit from 10 AM up until the time of the service.
