Quincy - Sherie C. Fairchild, 63, died at 8:25 p.m. at home on Sat. Jan. 21, 2023.
She was born Sept. 26, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia to John D. Newman Sr. and Carolyn V. Blackstock Newman, both preceded her in death. She attended Shawnee High School in Lima.
On June 28, 2003, she married Andrew M. Fairchild, who survives in Quincy. They were together for 22 years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, going to movies, riding together on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and Ohio football, him, a Cincinnati Bengals fan and she, a Cleveland Browns fan, both Ohio State fans. She also enjoyed crocheting, collecting home decor, reading, crosswords, caring for their farm animals and loving on the family pets.
Survivors also include son, James Daniel (partner Jasmine) Newman Sr. of Grover Hill; two daughters, Amanda (Timothy) Pruitt and Kassandra (Thomas) Clinch of Dayton; brother John (Barb) Newman Jr. of Lima; three sisters, Theresa Mauk of Tennessee, Lynn Baker of Van Wert, and Pam (Matt) Harris of Lima; nine grandchildren, two grandchildren-in-law, and two great-grandchildren: James Dylan, Victor, James Daniel Jr (fiancé Deanna), Vincent, Vance (Kali), Devin, Lucille, Liam, Joseph, Xavier, and Emery. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great great-niece and -nephew.
She is preceded in death by son, Scott J. Martin; two brothers, Larry D. Newman and Joseph D. Newman; and brother-in-law, Brian D. Baker.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Randy Reed officiating. In keeping with Sherie's wishes, she will be cremated following funeral services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
