Sharon Davis, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 8, 2026. Born on March 12, 1947, Sharon lived a life marked by love, joy, and peace.
For the last five years, Sharon made her home in Elkhart, Ind. after spending more than 35 years in Sidney, Ohio, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives within her community.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Cuba Pinnick; a brother, Donald; a sister, Ruby; and her beloved husband of 33 years, Rev. Ben Davis. Sharon and Ben served churches in Knoxville and Jackson, Tenn., before moving to Sidney in 1985. A devoted woman of faith, Sharon gave generously of her time and effort to her church families. She found joy in serving others and quietly supporting those in need, always offering kindness, compassion, and encouragement to everyone around her.
Sharon was a graduate of Indiana University and Bowling Green State University, and devoted her professional life to serving others as a speech pathologist at Sidney City Schools. Through her patience, kindness, and encouragement, she helped others find confidence and connection through communication. Her work reflected the gentle and caring spirit that defined her life.
She is survived by her children, Andrea Hoover (Dan) of Elkhart, Ind., Ben (Kasey) of Anderson, Ind., and Joe (Lisa) of Pendleton, Ind. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Elisha Hoover, Leah (Sam) Shaferly, Jillian Davis, Reece Davis, Lauren Davis, and Robby Davis; and a great-grandson, Jacob Shaferly. Additional survivors include sister-in-law, Betsy, two nephews, a niece, and countless church families from her decades in ministry.
Sharon treasured her family deeply and found great joy in the time spent with those she loved most. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for family and friends. Her warmth, grace, and peaceful spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
