Samuel "Sam" Morrow

SAMUEL “SAM” MORROW, 78, of Sidney passed away at 12:48 A.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Shelby Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on November 17, 1947 in Sidney, the son of the late Sam Morrow and Anna Lee (Haynes) Newman.

On November 4, 1979 he married his sweetheart, Letitia. “Tish” survives, along with two daughters, Melissa Richardson of Columbus, and Lorraine Rose of Sidney; two granddaughters, Lola and Loralei Chambers, both of Sidney; three siblings, Ron (Bobbi) Morrow of Denver, CO, Judy Westerbeck of Sidney, and John (Amy) Morrow of Sidney; one uncle, Noel Morrow; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul Newman; and one brother, David Morrow.

Sam was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he worked as an inspector with the former Stolle Corporation, where he retired after 43 years of service. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Sidney Elks Lodge, as well as a longtime member of the Sidney American Legion. For many years, he was honored to serve on the honor guard at Dayton National Cemetery, a role he fulfilled faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to continue.

A true Buckeye at heart, Sam was an avid Ohio State football fan. He was also a lifelong car enthusiast who loved watching NASCAR and taking his 2002 T-Bird out for a cruise. Above all, Sam cherished his family. He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren and attending their musical programs and school events at Fairlawn, which brought him tremendous joy. He is dearly loved, and will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Heckaman officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be performed at 10 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2025 at Dayton National Cemetery.
