Ruth A. Howell

RUTH A. HOWELL, age 93 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:40 PM at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born on December 10, 1927 in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herby and Iliea (Long) Liess. On July 20, 1946 she married Ralph R. Howell who preceded her in death January 3, 2021.

Ruth is survived by two children, Rita (Terry) Blakeman, and Ronald (Sherry) Howell both of Sidney, daughter-in-law, Sue Howell of Sidney, nine grandchildren, Jeremy Krebs, Jennifer Ecker, Amy Hoying, Nick, Lucas and Jason Howell, Kristi Anthony, Brandi Welker, and Bryan Blakeman and their families which include 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Danny and Norman Howell, daughter, Judy Krebs, and two siblings, Nelson Liess, and Irene Watkins.

Mrs. Howell was a graduate of Anna High School. She lived the life of a farmer's wife, helping on the farm and providing for her family. She was known for her cooking, especially her homemade donuts and chocolate chip cookies. She was also an active member of Anna United Methodist Church.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson with Rev. Randy Locker officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
