Ruby Alene (Rainey) Vaughn

RUBY ALENE VAUGHN, age 87 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 8:10 AM at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born on March 25, 1935 in Brenton Creek, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James J. and Beatrice (Gibson) Rainey. On August 7, 1954 she married her husband of 57 1/2 years, Estile Vaughn who preceded her in death April 11, 2012.

She is survived by daughter, Karen Jenkins of Sidney, grandchildren, Caitlin Jenkins of Centerville, and Dana Jenkins of Tampa, FL, brother, Vernal Rainey of Penn., niece, Jeanne Rainey, nephews; Vernal Jr. (Ava) Rainey, Dwayne (Karin) Rainey, Donald, and Craig Rainey, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Danny Vaughn, and two brothers, James Donald Rainey Sr., and Joseph Rainey.

Mrs. Vaughn retired in 1997 from Copeland Corporation after 20 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning food, and was the best cook, serving large meals for everyone. She was a loving care giver, taking care of her mother until her passing. She loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandkids.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 12 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor John Young officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service.
