Rosalind "Rose" L. (Herd) Russell

ROSALIND “ROSE” L. RUSSELL, age 89 of Sidney passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:46 AM at Wilson Health. She was born on February 9, 1936, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Cromes) Herd. She was married to Richard Russell who preceded her in death March 12, 2000.

She is survived by one sister, Connie (Harold) Helman of Jackson Center, two stepdaughters: Lynn (Robert) Baker of Tennessee, and Amy Russell of Wisconsin, three step grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Jo (Jim) Berger, Sam (Linda) Herd, and Donna (Don) Cecil, niece, Nancy Berger, and nephew, Jimmy Herd.

Rose graduated from Sidney High School class of 1954. She retired as a secretary from Reliable Castings in Sidney. She was a member of Sidney First Methodist Church, Sidney American Legion Post 217 Auxiliary, and spent 25 years as a volunteer for Wilson Health Auxiliary.

A Memorial Service for Rose will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Madden officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
