Robert "Bob" T. Amsden

ROBERT T. “BOB” AMSDEN, 86, of Sidney, passed away at 9:10 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on November 29, 1938 in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of the late Edward Daggett and Margaret (Tolman) Amsden.

On July 29, 1961 he married the former Davida Morin, who survives him along with three children, Jonathan (Laura) Amsden of Cypress, TX, Andrew Amsden of McCartyville, OH, and Rob (Tammi) of Gibsonton, FL; eleven grandchildren, Nate (Cara) Amsden, Katherine Amsden, Edward (Sarah) Amsden, Aline (Justin) Storrer, Emily Amsden, Aaron Amsden, Evan (Halina) Amsden, Davey Amsden, Ethan Amsden, Dory Amsden, and Victoria (Denver) Sangrey; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brother, Henry H. (Jean) Amsden, and John W. (Sue) Amsden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Vivian Amsden; and granddaughter, Kandice Amsden.

Bob dedicated his life to education, serving as a university professor of operations management and statistics at Rutgers University, Wright State University, and the University of Dayton. He was an active member of the American Society of Quality Control and the International Association of Quality Circles.

Outside of his career, Bob pursued his love of photography, with a special talent for capturing the beauty of landscapes. His faith was central to his life; he was a devoted student of the Word of God and treasured thoughtful conversations about Scripture.

Above all, Bob found his greatest joy in his family. He delighted in taking his grandchildren fishing and cherished every moment spent with his great-grandchildren. His legacy of faith, love, and learning will continue to live on in those who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Cody Gish officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Bob’s final resting place will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Dorothy Love - Life Care Fund in Bob’s memory.
