Robert Earl Smedley

ROBERT "BOB" EARL SMEDLEY, 91, of Tipp City, passed away at 5:10 P.M. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. He was born on October 22, 1934, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Charles and Ada (Bates) Smedley. In 1956, he married the former Sandra Simone Courter, who preceded him in death on December 31, 2025.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Luann (Mark) Pellman of Troy; three grandchildren, Sandra Sue (David) Foreman, Larry Samuel (Laura) Pellman, and Joseph Franklin (Jessica) Pellman; five great-grandchildren, Faith, Willow, Daniel, Eden, and Finn; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Robert Smedley.
Bob was a graduate of Sidney High School, class of 1948. He retired from Copeland where he worked as a machinery repairman for 47 years. He was a member of Hardin Church. Bob had a passion for working on cars and was considered by many to be a master mechanic. He loved traveling with his family, especially taking trips to Las Vegas. Most of all, Bob treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Shelby Memory Gardens with Pastor Steve Hunsucker officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
