ROBERT L. SIBERT, 88 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 4:35 AM at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 1, 1937, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late William and Juanita (Kendall) Sibert.
On September 27, 1969, Bob married the love of his life, Ruby (Harshbarger) who survives along with their four children: Robin (Scot) Holloway of Sidney, Roxanne (John) Jodzio of Shaker Heights, OH, Ryan (Amanda) Sibert, and Rob (Tara) Sibert both of Sidney, and eight grandchildren: Morgan and Jude Jodzio, Tyler (Jessica), Victoria, Cole, Thomas, Landon, and Madison Sibert, and great-grandson, Carson Sibert. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Allison Sibert.
Robert, Bobby, Uncle Bob, Dad, Dear One ...Bob to most, was a Sidney High School Graduate Class of 1955. He served his country in the US Airforce during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1963. After returning from the service, he worked as a master mechanic who dedicated 37 years to Sidney Truck and Storage.
Bob had many hobbies including fishing, mushrooms hunting, cars, boats, motorcycles and other 'toys'. He loved a good card game and there were a few years when we thought things might end over a fierce Skip-bo game. Bob also loved golf, college football, animals, and throughout his life, was the proud owner of peacocks, chipmunks, rabbits, raccoons, birds, a dozen dogs of varied breeds and many cats. He could MacGyver anything, and we mean anything..., loved a cold beer, and was Always the life of the party. If you had the pleasure of a pot of coffee at the Sibert kitchen table, you likely experienced Bob's wisdom. He was generous with his time and knowledge, and would help anyone, especially family and his many friends. He was sharp as a tack through his last day. When he said, “I love you,” you felt it. After years of health issues and rallies that only someone as strong and stubborn as Bob could pull off, and with the care of his loving wife by his side, he left this world peacefully in the home he built with his own hands and shared with his family. We will miss you dearly dad.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, private services for the family will be held at a later date. Cremation Services have been entrusted to Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
