Robert D. Kelly

ROBERT D. KELLY, 100, of Sidney, passed away at 3:25 P.M. Monday, May 27, 2024 at Fair Haven County Home. He was born on September 5, 1923 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of the late David and Jane (Turner) Kelly. On November 1, 1952 he married the former Beatrice Phelps, who preceded him in death on May 15, 1995.

Robert is survived by two children, Joann (Dick) Cory of New Carlisle, OH, and Robert M. “Mike” (Patty) Kelly of Sidney, eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Mildred M. “Mickey” Kelly, Johnny Ray Kelly, and Jeff Kelly; four sisters, and three brothers.

Robert was retired from the former Robert R. Oldham Concrete Products. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217. Robert loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Kaufman officiating. Burial with military honors by the United States Army will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
