Rebecca (Becky) Gillman

Rebecca (Becky) Gillman passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:49 AM at Wilson Memorial.

Becky was born on November 19, 1938, in Sidney, Ohio. She was the only child of Eugene and Arabelle (Nelson) Young.

Becky is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Walter (Wally), her son Jeff and a grandson Nathan Sparks.

She married Wally Gillman on April 6, 1963.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Sparks (Mark Coverstone) and son Kevin (Kathy) Gillman, grandchildren Robert Sparks, Brittni (Derek) Aikin, Kaitlin (Mack) Knupp, Kara (Kyle) Maurer and 2 great grandchildren Haiden Kelly and Blair Maurer.

Becky graduated from Sidney High School. She worked at several banks in Sidney and Columbus. She retired as High School Secretary from Fairlawn Local Schools. After her retirement, she spent several years volunteering at FISH Thrift Shop, where she was instrumental in securing its current location and creating The Christmas Shop. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Becky’s family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished the time they spent together.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 6 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor John Leighty and Mike McRill officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM until the time of service. Graveside Services will be on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11 AM at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.

The family strongly encourages that no flowers or gifts be sent. Becky’s wishes were for donations be made to Shelby County CASA, PO Box 4187, Sidney, Ohio 45365 so they can continue to help the children of the community. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cromesfh.com
