Rebecca J.P. (Patton) Anderson

REBECCA J.P. ANDERSON, age 101 of Sidney, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 12:35 PM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born on July 18, 1919 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leo R. and Eva (Elderidge) Patton. On September 29, 1943 she married Laurence B. Anderson who preceded her in death February 23, 1998.

She is survived by one sister, Joyce A. (Earl H.) Vance of Sidney, 15 nieces and nephews, 31 great-nieces and nephews, and many close friends, including Brenda Barker and Carol Foster. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laurie McMahan, and four siblings, Robert Patton, Gladys Johnston, Omar Patton, and Barbara Russell.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and worked as a beautician. She was an avid gardener, and an artist in wood carving, stain glass, and oil paintings. She shared her many talents with her church and the community, as a set designer, in sewing activities, and serving as a Girl Scout Leader. She was also an Alter Guild and Circle Member at St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, May 15th from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
