Peggy Austin

Peggy Austin, 76, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2025. She peacefully passed away at Ohio Hospice of Troy. Peggy was born in Kentucky on August 2, 1948, to Fred and Stella Cox. Peggy was married to Thomas Wayne Austin for almost 50 years. Thomas preceded her in death on October 20th, 2015, and her eldest son, Scott Austin. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Reverend Clarence Cox and Donald Cox, and her long-time furry friend Buddy Austin. Peggy is survived by her sister Brenda Rowe, Patsy Hughes, brothers Bobby Cox, Ricky (Debbie) Cox, Gary Cox; two children, Jeffery (Colleen) Austin of Toledo, and Brandy Austin (Ernie Ponder) of New Madison also by her grandchildren Jared Austin, Jacob Austin, Brandon (Jamie) Austin, Alec (Rebecca) Austin, Zachary Austin, Tommy (Kamesha) Austin, Rylee Austin, Nicholas Austin, Chanda (John) Umbaugh, Chad (Sara) Brun, and Steven (Jessica) Brun. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Peggy retired from Alcoain Sidney. Peggy had her faith and loved her church, Sidney Apostolic Temple, and family. The last years of her life were spent fighting cancer, which showed her strength as well as her faith in the lord. In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, her body was cremated. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Sidney Baptist Church, 1322 Court Street, Sidney, on June 8th, 2025, at 2 pm.
