Paul A. Shannon

PAUL A. SHANNON, 83, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 5:45 AM at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. He was born on November 16, 1940 in London, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Lucille (Queen) Shannon. On May 13, 1972, Paul married the former Viola Stephens, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by six children, Dale Schutte of Sidney, Mark (Debra) Schutte of Anna, Steve (Traci) Schutte of Columbus, Bonita (Tom) Sprague of Sidney, Robin (Doug) Stammen of Houston and Lisa (Nick) Davidson of Piqua; twenty-three grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and six siblings, Charlene Balsinger of Dayton, Marilin Skinner of Florida, Ronald Shannon of Texas, Sharon (Dwayne) Montgomery of Columbus, Linda Reed of Indianapolis and Clarence (Judy) Shannon of Florida. Paul was preceded in death by siblings, Catherine Baker, Albert Shannon, James Shannon and David Shannon and grandson, Beau Schutte.

Mr. Shannon retired from the Dayton VA enjoying his job as a Maintenance Supervisor. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved doing construction projects with his grandchildren. Paul’s hobbies were shooting and fishing in his spare time.

In honoring Paul’s wishes, his body will be cremated. The family will hold services at their own discretion.
