Norma Jean Bergman

NORMA JEAN BERGMAN, 101, of Sidney, passed away at 5:25 A.M. Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Fair Haven County Home. She was born on May 12, 1924 in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Lloyd Edward and Florence Leona (Moore) Troup. On May 6, 1945 she married Vernon William Bergman, who preceded her in death on August 30, 1968.

Norma is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. (Michael) Reid of Lancaster, and Susan A. (J.B.) Brown of Sidney; six grandchildren, Patrick Vernon, Adam, Katie, Bethann, Amy, and Jeanne; great-grandchildren, Cindy, Samantha, Jacob, Morgan, Brennan, Kaylan, Abby, Andrew, Ryley, and Kinzie; and great-great-grandchildren, Soren, Mia, Charlotte, Vernon, Maci, and Dean, all of Colorado. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald W. and Daniel W. Bergman; and one sister, Maxine Reese.

Norma spent most of her career as a secretary with Nationwide Insurance in Sidney until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Norma enjoyed traveling to California to visit her sister, Maxine. She also enjoyed shopping and watching her favorite Western television shows. She will be dearly missed.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Fair Haven County Home for the compassionate care and attention they provided to Norma over the past several years.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Deacon Phil Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
