Nina A. Boyer

NINA A. BOYER, 95, of Sidney, passed away at 4:42 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born on November 22, 1929 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Grace (Collins) Shue. On February 18, 1951 she married Willis D. “Jake” Boyer, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2014.

Nina is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Eileen Boyer; and close friends, Jana Becker, Tina Kelly-Lowe, and Rhonda Anderson. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Marlene Davis, Priscilla Shue, and June Shue who died as an infant.

Nina was a proud graduate of Sidney High School, Class of 1948. She spent her career as a bookkeeper, beginning with Wentz Brothers Chevrolet in Anna and later with LaCal Equipment in Jackson Center. Nina was a longtime and active member of Anna United Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pleiades Chapter 298. She cherished her friendships and remained a devoted member of her card club since 1949.

Nina had a love for dancing, which led her to meet the love of her life, Jake, at an outdoor event at Indian Lake. Together, they shared a deep affection for animals, lovingly caring for horses, dogs, and cats over the years. Nina was known for her warmth, kindness, and thoughtfulness. She never missed a birthday and always made others feel remembered. She had a collector’s spirit and a sentimental heart, saving cherished items throughout her life. To know her was to love her, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Alice Wolfe Brookover officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the time of service. Nina’s final resting place will be at Pearl Cemetery.
