Nicholas Norbert Ahrens

NICHOLAS NORBERT AHRENS, 54 of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 13, 1970, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Dennis and Martha (Simon) Ahrens.

On February 20, 1993, Nick married his best friend Amy (Kruse) who survives along with their two sons: Brandon (Cheyenne) Ahrens, and Ryan (Jadyn) Ahrens both of Sidney, and two siblings: Brenda (John) Lucente of Sidney, and Matthew (Michelle) Ahrens of Cookeville, TN.

Nick was a graduate of Sidney High School Class of 1989. He played football for many years in high school with his dear friends and was active in the teen institute in high school. His favorite place was to be at the Dale Hollow Lake in TN. He loved spending time there with his family on the boat. Nick was the younger brother they all picked on, but he was always there. He enjoyed being the fun uncle. Nick spent so much time with his best friend Derek. He enjoyed kayaking and taking walks with his wife. He loved watching his boys play soccer and going fishing and spent most of his summers with his boys working with his dad for his family business. Nick loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Bengals, and Nascar.

A Memorial Service for Nick will be held Monday, January 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Kaufman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 PM until the time of service.
