Nellie Marie Goins

NELLIE MARIE GOINS, 88, of Sidney, passed away at 5:58 P.M. Thursday, December 24, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on November 7, 1932 in LaFollette, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ulysses and Hattie (Wylie) Ford. On May 5, 1954 she married Ralph E. Goins, who preceded her in death on November 9, 1999.

Nellie is survived by two children, Glenna (Paul) Gordon and Steven (Mary Ann) Goins, both of Sidney; five grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Gordon, John (Valerie) Gordon, Joseph (Amber) Gordon, Zachary (Kiersten) Goins, Anna (Kaleb) Martin; and eight great-grandchildren, Carter, Shae, Cali, Jaxxen and Analeigh Gordon, Emry and Madison Goins, and Kaisley Martin. She was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Nellie was retired from the Stolle Corporation where she had worked for more than 20 years. She was a long time member of Sidney Baptist Church. She was very active in her church until her later years and loved her church family. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, taking care of her home and working outdoors. Nellie was a sweet, caring and loving soul. She treated neighbor kids as if they were her own, and loved more than anything to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Sidney Baptist Church in Nellie's memory.
