Naaman Branscum

NAAMAN BRANSCUM, 89, of Sidney, passed away at 1:50 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on June 14, 1931 in Yamacraw Community, Kentucky, the son of the late Ulyss and Martha "Lizze" (Thompson) Branscum. On July 14, 1956 he married the former Ina Williamson, who preceded him in death on September 12, 2020.

Naaman is survived by three children, Boyce (Lorie) Branscum of Botkins, Alan (Angie) Branscum of Sidney, and Sharon (William) Anderson of Sidney; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kelly Branscum. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, McKinley Sutton; five sisters and seven brothers.

Naaman was retired from the former Stolle Corporation where he worked as a press operator for 40 years. He was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sidney. Naaman was an avid bowler and loved getting to share that activity with his wife, Ina. He also enjoyed spending time outside in his garden and doing yard work. Naaman loved his grandchildren and was always up to challenge them to a game of Skip-Bo. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and for being with them during this time.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Vincent Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
