MYRON WALKER PARKE, JR., 74, 507 North Main Avenue passed away at 8:29 A.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born on January 23, 1950 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Myron and Jessie (Davidson) Parke, Sr. He was married to Ruth (Gerstmayr) Parke, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2017.
Myron is survived by seven children, Susanne Eberle, Christine (Jeff Slagle) Parke, Jessie (Shane) Copeland, Viola Parke, Carol Palmer, Myron Parke III, and Susie Parke; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Shoemaker, June Francis, Carol Secreto, Beverly Phillis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, David Lee Slagle, Sarah Elizabeth Slagle and Sydney Wayne Hoaglin; and one sister, Alma Simindinger.
Myron was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed volunteering at the St. John’s Thrift Shop. Most of all he loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 12 P.M. Burial with military honors provided by the U.S. Army and the Sidney Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Plattsville Cemetery.
