Michael "Mike" Wayne Elmore

MICHAEL WAYNE “MIKE” ELMORE, 60, of Fort Loramie, passed away at 5:21 A.M. Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Wilson Health. He was born on November 10, 1964 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Emby and Thelma (Brooks) Elmore. After the tragic loss of his mother in a car accident, he was welcomed into the home of his aunt, Loretta Douglas who survives, and her husband, Joe, who raised him as one of their own. Joe passed away on August 6, 2008. 
Mike married the former Kay Grimm, and together they had three children. Although their marriage ended, they maintained a strong friendship throughout the years.

Mike is survived by his children: Crystal (Thomas) Steiger of Anna, Amanda (Eric) Downing of Springfield, and Brandon (Alexis Steinmetz) of Mansfield; his six beloved grandchildren, Zander, Myles, and Christina Steiger, Madison Sears-Elmore, Kinsley Borders, and Kathryn Downing; three siblings, David (Lesa) Elmore, Kathie Catron, and Ronald (Elaine) Douglas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Jim (Petra) Sloan. Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Douglas, and sisters Christine Elmore, Kathy O'Quinn, and Trisha McMaster.

Mike was a graduate of Fairlawn High School, class of 1985. He worked as a machinist for 35 years at Collins Aerospace before retiring. He was an avid fisherman, particularly enjoying his time on Lake Erie. Above all, Mike cherished his family, with a special love for his grandchildren, and the memories he created with them.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Riley officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Condolences may be expressed to Mike’s family at, www.cromesfh.com
