Michael Craig Silvers

Michael Craig Silvers, 69, of Wapakoneta, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the son of the late Carl Silvers and Eulalia (Goode) Ellis. On July 5, 2003, he married Betsy L. Hubbard, who preceded him in death on March 14, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter, Raquel Strong-Silvers of Englewood; grandchildren, Eulalia (Sebastian) Humphreys, Jared Strong, and Stormy Strong; and former son-in-law, Jeremy Strong. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Vern Ellis.

Michael began his lifelong career on the railroad at the young age of 15, a path he followed with dedication well into retirement, continuing to volunteer in the field even after stepping away professionally. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter in both Quincy and DeGraff.

Michael had a love for journaling and found peace in caring for the animals that shared his property. He was passionate about researching Native American history, proudly exploring and preserving the legacy of his family’s heritage. Above all else, he valued his family, who remained at the center of his life.

A graveside service will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family. Michael’s final resting place will be at Fletcher Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at, www.cromesfh.com
