Mary Rachael (Phelps) Van Hook

MARY RACHAEL VANHOOK, age 90 of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 8:30 AM at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born on February 26, 1934, in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Emert and Lena (Stogsdill) Phelps. She married Carl Van Hook who preceded her in death in June of1985.

She is survived by two children: Michael (Malinda) Van Hook, and Steve Van Hook both of Sidney, sister, Gerstina Bateman of Sidney, brother, Ray Phelps of Sidney, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Van Hook of Hillsboro, OH, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons: Richard, Timothy, Phillip, and Joel Van Hook, brother, Joplin Phelps, and sister, Coreen Buchanan.

Mary was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where a Memorial Service will be held  on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Brother Mike Wheeler officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
