Mary Catherine (Young) Mays

MARY CATHERINE MAYS, age 73 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 12:58 AM at Wilson Health. She was born on June 17, 1950, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Young and Carmalee "Lee" (Bud) Kuch. On August 19, 1967 she married Paul "Pete" R.F. Mays who preceded her in death November 28, 2017.

She is survived by two children: Paul "Scoot" R.F. II (Cindy) Mays of Piqua, and Angela Westgerdes of Sidney, two siblings: George "Reb" Young of Piqua, and Tony Klohe of Columbus, three grandchildren: Chelsea (William) Shorder, Paul "Trey" (Alanna) Mays, and Lauren Westgerdes, and six great-grandchildren: Autumn, Gracie, Mayson, Wesley, Emily, and Helena. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Pamela Mays, and two siblings, John Young, and Terri Kendrick. 

Mary retired from Ross Aluminum as a Inspector. She was a member of Solid Rock Church in Sidney. She loved her camp family at Lotus Cove in Minster. Her favorite past times were hauling her grandkids and great grandkids on her golf cart around the campgrounds and selling 50/50 tickets.

In keeping with Mary's wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
