MARTHA “DARLENE” HALL, 91, recent resident of Story Point of Troy, and formerly of Sidney, passed away at 6:12 A.M. Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1933 in Perry Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles P. and Gladys (Moore) Watkins. On November 14. 1951 she married Lewis “Vernon” Hall, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2000.
Darlene is survived by two daughters, Janice (Bruce) Michael, and Judith Hall; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Eva (Orville) Huffman, Beth Cable, and Loren Watkins. She was preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Russ Hall; one sister, Charlotte Renner; and one brother, Howard Fugate, Jr.
Darlene retired from Nationwide, where she worked as a licensed insurance agent in the claims department. She also enjoyed her time as a travel agent, helping others plan their next trip. A member of the Rural Gardeners of Shelby County, Darlene had a love for creativity and community. She enjoyed time quilting, painting, and contributing to the Pasadena Rose Parade floats, projects she took great pride in.
Darlene was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney, where she found joy in her faith and friendships. She was active in the church’s senior group, the Altar Guild, and the quilting group, dedicating her time and talents to the church she loved.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
