Marsha Ann (Shearer) Calland

MARSHA ANN (SHEARER) CALLAND, 79 of Sidney, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:57 AM at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH. She was born on February 2, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward Robert and Gladys Geneva (Chamber) Shearer.

On July 22, 1962 Marsha married Gerald Lynn Calland who survives along with two daughters: Kathren Sue (Edward) Watkins of Sidney, and Teresa Jo (Marvin) Holscher of Ft. Loramie, eight grandchildren: Steven (Miranda) Lovett, Jamison (Ashley) Lovett, Timothy (Kelly) Hutchinson, Bradley (Aleshya) Hutchinson, Kristina and Brittany Burns, and Andrew and Mitch Holscher, 11 great-grandchildren: Callan and Bryn Lovett, Hailey, Kensley, and Callie Lovett, Gabe Hutchinson, Ryleigh and Berkleigh Hutchinson, and Ava, Maddox, and Braxton Burns, and sister-in-law, Barbara Brown. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Brown, two sisters: Barbara Chinn, and Beverly Dillon, and one great-granddaughter, Flora Lovett.

Marsha was a graduate of Sidney High School and earned her degree from Edison Community College. She retired from Upper Valley Medical Center as a registered nurse after 25 years of service. She was a member of Sidney First Presbyterian Church where she served as past deacon and elder, a member of Goldwing Road Riders, Great Miami Long Rifles, and Tomahawks Muzzle Loading Club.

After retiring, Marsha enjoyed spending time with her husband, riding their Harley Davidson trike, and crocheting blankets for all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone always knew she’d make a blanket for every new baby born in the family. She also enjoyed snuggling with her dog, Harley, and doing word searches.

Funeral Services for Marsha will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Cody Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
