MARK ALLEN “SOUP BONE” VOISARD, 56, of Sidney, passed away at 12:22 P.M. Friday, November 28, 2025. He was born on November 4, 1969 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Jerold Voisard and the late Rita (Sitzman) Voisard.
Mark is survived by two children, Madison and Franklin Voisard; the mother of his children, Kim, all three of Arizona; two brothers, Matthew (Jennifer) Voisard of Miamisburg, OH, and Luke (Kim) Voisard of Sidney; nieces and nephews, Karah, Hailey, Allie, Hollie, Rylie, and Tanner; and great-nieces and nephews, Nico and Eleanor. The family extends a special thanks to his good friends, Pat, Fred, Jason and Lara.
Mark graduated from Lehman High School in 1988 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. A lifelong athlete with exceptional talent, he was drafted in 1992 by the Colorado Rockies Organization and played professionally until 1996. He also enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds, the Bengals, and the Boston Celtics.
After his baseball career, Mark spent four years coaching softball at Samford University in Alabama, a role that allowed him to share his passion for the game and mentor young athletes. He later transitioned into work as a facility manager and groundskeeper, first for the Scottsdale school system and then for Phoenix College. Few took more pride in their work than Mark. He was especially proud of the ball fields he maintained, earning awards for his exceptional skill and deep knowledge of turf care in the Arizona climate.
Mark also enjoyed DIY projects, particularly carpentry and painting. He loved his family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 1 to 4 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Rehabilitation Center for Neurological Development in Mark’s memory.
