Marilyn Rose (Meyer) Elsass

MARILYN ROSE (MEYER) ELSASS, 85, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 9:35 AM at her residence. She was born on July 3, 1939 in Ottawa, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oscar and Cleonora (Siebeneck) Meyer. On December 27, 1962, Marilyn married Gary R. Elsass, who survives.

She is survived by three children, Jodi (Mark) Locker of Dublin, Missy (Scott) Dean of Sidney and Chris (Christy) Elsass of Santa Barbara, CA; five grandchildren, Cam Locker, Dan (Natalie) Dean, Carly Dean, Ryan Elsass and Ashley Elsass and two siblings, Carl Meyer of Upper Arlington and Lorene Jettinghoff of Delphos. She was preceded in death by sister, Doris Gerdeman, brother-in-law, Earl Gerdeman, sister-in-law, Ida Meyer and brother-in-law, Louis Jettinghoff.

Mrs. Elsass obtained a nursing degree from St. Rita’s Hospital and Bachelor and Master degree of Nursing from Ohio State University.  Marilyn was a former nurse and board member of Wilson Memorial Hospital. She later taught nursing at Lima Technical College and finished her nursing career as a Hospice and Home Health Nurse. Marilyn loved to travel, attending to her flowers and was an avid reader. She would love to spend time at the Amos Memorial Public Library.  Marilyn especially enjoyed spending time and being around her grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney.  Friends may visit from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
