Margaret Elizabeth Humphris

MARGARET ELIZABETH HUMPHRIS, 79, of Sidney passed away at 1:36 P.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born on December 14, 1943 in Sutton Coldfield, England, the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Elizabeth Helen (Flemming) Owen. On January 3, 1972 she married John G. Humphris who preceded her in death on June 5, 2021.

Margaret is survived by cousins, Barbara (Tom) Price of Utah, Robert (Mary) Zoller of Colorado, William Zoller of Washington, Ferris (Sue) Winterberg of Texas, and numerous other 2nd cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by cousin, Owen Winterberg.

Margaret came to Sidney with her husband John in 1975, both joining the staff at Amos Press at the personal request of J. Oliver Amos. She worked several other jobs before retiring, most recently as a secretary for Clean All. Margaret and John founded the Birmingham Numismatic Society. They were long time members of the Shelby County Coin Club. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing tennis and ping pong. Margaret was a lover of animals and had many cats over the years. She and John helped initiate the building project for the new county animal shelter and have been faithful supporters of Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation (S.C.A.R.F.). She had a full life having traveled much of the world with John and making many friends along the way, both locally and abroad, with her signature English accent and magnetic personality. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 11 A.M until 12 P.M. in the Amos Chapel at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
