Mae J. Davis

MAE J. DAVIS, 88, of Sidney, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 12:30 A.M. at Shelby Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on February 27, 1935 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie (Haymaker) Ellis.

On June 10, 1950 she married Ronald J. Davis, who survives along with three children, Ronald L. (Glenna) Davis of Sidney, Debbie Love of Cleveland, and Dennis K. (Cheryl) Davis of Sidney; eleven grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and a multitude of great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Katie Freistuhler; and three siblings, Albert Ellis, Marion Ellis, and Katherine Gross.

Mae worked for the former Steinle Drug Store and Rite Aid, both in Sidney. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mae loved going camping with family and accompanying her husband while he fished. She also enjoyed collecting teddy bears and stuffed animals, making candy for her family and friends, and the company of her beloved dog, Bear. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and spending time with them.  

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Jones and Pastor Chad Inman officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday from 10 A.M until the time of service. Condolences may be expressed to the Davis family at, www.cromesfh.com
