Lynda Haynes Obituary

With deep love and faith, we announce the passing of Lynda Jean Haynes, who entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2026, at the age of 78, in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Lynda was born on March 5, 1948, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, to Gail and Bettye Reeder, who preceded her in death. A devoted woman of faith, she lived her life guided by love, compassion, prayer, and service to others. Her unwavering trust in God was reflected in the kindness she showed to everyone she met.

She was a loving mother, cherished sister, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a devoted pet momma whose heart had room for every child, grandchild, friend, and furry companion who crossed her path. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Lynda owned and operated Dekkers Flowers in Sidney, Ohio from 1988 to 2019. She thoroughly enjoyed designing floral arrangements, building lasting friendships with her customers, and praying with anyone who stopped in seeking comfort or prayer. She found joy in painting, reading, golfing, dancing, spending time with family, caring for those she loved, and sharing her faith with others. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, comforting words, prayers, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and deeply loved.

She is survived by her sister, Maggie Ward; her two daughters, Melissa Olds and Tiffany (Matt) Terry; her four grandchildren, Alexandra (Bradley) Lewis, Tyler Grooms, Brandon Olds, and Sarah Jean Terry; and her four great-grandchildren, Kali, Karli, Gracie Grooms, and Leo Olds. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Butters, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Francis.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. Her love, faith, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will share details as they become available.
