Lola N. Heintz, age 84, of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022,
at 12:52 AM at Kindred Hospital in Lima. She was born on March 6, 1938, in
Shelby County, Ohio the daughter of Willard Sr. and Letha (Bertsch) Heintz.
Lola is survived by her loving family, sister Nancy Martin, nieces and nephews
Steve Heintz, Stephanie (George) Fleenor, Shelly (Eric) Hirons, Debra Hagan, David
(Carmen) Heintz, Darrell Heintz, and Darla Shepherd, 13 great nieces and
nephews, and 16 great-great nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Ralph Heintz, Ernest
Heintz, and Willard Heintz Jr.
Lola graduated from Anna High School in 1956. She then attended Miami Valley
School of Nursing graduating in 1959. She was a nurse at Miami Valley for one
year before going to work at Wilson Memorial Hospital where she worked for 40
years before retiring.
Lola was a life long member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna, Ohio where she
held various positions in the church including serving as treasurer. She was active
in all phases of Women of the Church. Lola dedicated a lot of her time gathering
information and cross-stitching patterns for the senior quilts.
Community involvement includes Anna Education Foundation, Shelby County
Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, served on the board for the Sidney Senior
Citizens and was a volunteer for the Reach for Recovery.
Lola had a love for family, gardening, canning, and baking. Anyone who knew Lola
knew she was famous for her sugar cookies and rolls.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Saint
Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna with Rev. David Eidson, officiating. Burial will
follow at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from
4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home in Sidney and at the church
one hour prior to the service.
