Lois Clayton Obituary

LOIS EILEEN CLAYTON, 88, of Mendon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 her residence surrounded by family. She was born on March 7, 1937 in Sedan, Kansas, the daughter of the late James Paul and Virginia (Martin) Doty.

On May 26, 1957 she married Evangelist Larry Clayton, who survives, along with three children, Pastor Stephen (Lanne) Clayton of Mendon, OH, Pastor Philip (Sharon) Clayton of Hartville, OH, and Lori (Pastor Jim) Males of New Matamoras, OH; twelve grandchildren, Joshua, Kari, Krystal, Katie, Jacob, Lana, Becky, Bethany, James, Isaiah, Holly, and Heather; forty great-grandchildren; six siblings, Arline, Jean, Rachel, Dorothy, Dallas, Nola; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Delores, Paul, and Gail.

Lois was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who faithfully served alongside her husband, a missionary and evangelist. Together, they ministered in 60 countries. Lois influenced the lives of countless women around the world and was a gifted Bible teacher with a remarkable ability to connect with children, teaching thousands over the years.

She was a faithful preacher’s wife, an invaluable help in ministry, and a passionate soul winner. Her family brought her tremendous joy, and she was deeply cherished by her grandchildren. Lois loved gathering her family around her and was well known for making the best pumpkin pies.

Lois and Larry were instrumental in the early years of Grace Baptist Church in Sidney. Serving the Lord was always central to their lives. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 12 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church in Sidney. Burial will follow Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to S.E.A. "Salvation Evangelistic Association” (used for Shepherd's House Orphanage in Pakistan) in memory of Lois. Condolences may be expressed to the family at, www.cromesfh.com
