Linda Kay Spangler

LINDA KAY SPANGLER, 82, of Sidney, passed away at 7:35 P.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born on November 16, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ira and Esther (Meyers) Hullinger. On March 24, 1963 she married John W. Spangler who preceded her in death on November 15, 2020.

Linda is survived by three children, Julie Spangler of Sidney, Kim (Mike) Watren of Anna, Laurie (Kirk) Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Blaine (Allison) Coffey, Justin (Julie) Watren, Tyler Jones, Jennifer Jones, Brandie Hoekzema, Leah Sanders, Zachary Watren, Hannah (Johnathan) Yancey, Josiah Coffey; ten great-grandchildren, Ila, Wyatt, Maverick, Austin, Harrison, Tawny, Stormy, Aurora, Caleb and Logan; and one sister, Sandra Hullinger-Klinger. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Milton Hullinger.

Linda graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1960 and went on to complete the nursing program at Lima Memorial before beginning her lifelong career in healthcare. She served as an ER nurse and later as a nursing supervisor, all at Wilson Health in Sidney, and also worked with Shelby County Surgeons. After more than 50 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2019. Linda loved her profession and took great pride in caring for others, never dreading a day of work and always getting the job done.

Outside of nursing, she enjoyed golfing as a member of the Shelby Oaks Ladies Club, painting, home decorating, and working with flowers. She also loved vacationing with family at Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Friday, October 24th from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Linda’s memory.
