Obituary
On Friday, July 28, 2023, Linda Cory, loving mother of four children, passed peacefully at the age of 70 succumbing to complications from cancer.
Linda was born on July 22, 1953, to Arnold and Rose (Earls) Butz in Hamilton, OH before moving to Sidney, OH in 1974, where she worked at Kirk NationaLease, followed by Direct Graphics before transitioning to Walmart for almost a decade up to her passing. Linda raised three daughters; Candy, Alicia, and Brittany and one son, Stephen.
Linda volunteered throughout her children's tenure within Fairlawn School District, helping to run various fundraising festivals throughout the school year as well as Den Mother to her son's Cub Scout troop during his adolescence. She was an avid lover of landscaping, home decorating and listening to Elvis Presley music. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious laugh, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Arnold, and her mother Rose. She is survived by her brother David J. Butz, her former spouse, William Cory and their children; Candy Dickerson, Alicia Cory-Gillem, Stephen Cory, and Brittany May. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Linda's name to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance
