Linda Cheryl (Benton) Anderson, 74 years old of DeGraff, Ohio, passed away following a short battle with cancer on January 18, 2025.
Linda was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 25, 1950, to Paul and Lucille Benton. In 1974 she relocated to DeGraff to attend the Mt. Tabor Church of God where she met and married Gary Anderson on September 8, 1978. Linda’s three children and Gary’s young son blended to create a beautiful family that was made complete when a son was born to them the following year.
Family and friends will recollect Linda farming alongside her husband and doing all the faithful duties of a dairy farmers wife; milking cows, running after parts, and rounding up cattle and horses that always found the grass greener on the other side.
Linda’s love for God and her personal relationship guided her in everything she did, taking her famous broccoli soup to the broken-hearted, singing a song of hope to the sick, and sharing the word of God to the lost. Her sense of humor, lively storytelling, and spontaneity endeared her to all those she met. She was blessed with a wonderful imagination and will be remembered for the plays she wrote and directed. The highlight of her summer was making mashed potatoes at the annual Church of God Camp Meeting.
Left to treasure her memory is her husband of 46 years, Gary Anderson; her two daughters Carla (Mark) Nuss of DeGraff, Amy (Micah) Minnich of Neoga, IL; her sons Galen Everhart of Quincy, Brent (Amanda) of Troy, John Matthew (Leslie) Anderson of Sidney, honorary son Jeff (Jenny) Bell of DeGraff; grandchildren Carrie (Matthew) Maher, Mallory and Ashley Nuss, Taylor (Michael) Thompson, Trevor, Gaven, Lauren, Casey Parker, Krystin, Kaylee, Corbin Anderson, Alex (Kyah) Minnich, Alivia (Derrick) Wilcoxen, and Mathew and Hudson Minnich, Zakari Heath and Hayden Robinson, honorary grandchildren Eli, Wyatt, Gaven Bell; and 13 great grandchildren. Her sister Paulette (Rick) Fields; brothers Glenn (Jeanie), Tim (Debra), John (Norma), and David Benton along with a host of friends, extended family and the family of her heart the Mt. Tabor Church of God congregation.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10 A.M. at Mt. Tabor Church of God in DeGraff, with Pastor Nathan Price officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Linda’s final resting place will be at Stoney Creek Cemetery in Union Township.
